Site suitability analysis for locating petroleum stations using analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and MCDA approach: a case of Wolayita Sodo town, Ethiopia, Africa

This study allows the local people as well planners for appropriate plans of land use planning in sustainable petroleum station Wolayita Sodo town, Ethiopia, East Africa. The problem haphazard location petrol stations is one major difficulties at towns. Due to less scientifically accepted sites and lack attention standards that has experienced methods are expressed poor sitting. main objective this identify locating assessing existing by using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) & Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) techniques. demonstrates an integrated Idris 17.1 Arc GIS 10.3.1 used designate site area. MCDA consists a series techniques permit range criteria relating particular issue be scored, weighted then ranked their degree suitability or importance facility service locate suitable site. thematic maps these were prepared standardized pair wise comparison matrix. A weight each criterion was given comparing them with other according importance, consistence matrix checked calculating ratio (CR). consistency indicated 0.04 which than 0.1. Thus, consistent formed acceptable order combine all mapping layers.
